Hedorah
Hedorah is giant alien kaiju first appeared in the movie Godzilla vs. Hedorah (1971)
Godzilla vs. Hedorah |
I know what you're thinking, what is this thing? First of all, it wasn't always "that". When Hedorah arrived Earth from an another planet in a comet, it was just a big tadpole (Initial Stage). No worries so far. Until it started to feed on pollution. Exactly, pollution. It was eating everything it sees, and since seas are sadly polluted by humans, it grew to a bigger size. Which is called its Aquatic Stage. And Hedorah kept on feeding, until it finally managed to get on land, also growing bigger in size, and thus reaching its Landing Form.
After Hedorah got onto land, it became much easier for him to continue evolve, since it could feed on more easily. But Hedorah's acts drew Godzilla's attention quickly, and they had their first fight. Since Hedorah was pretty small and not experienced in combat compared to Godzilla, it didn't last long and ended with Godzilla's victory. But this didn't stop Hedorah from feeding on and eventually transforming to his Flying Stage. In this stage, Hedorah was capable of flying and spread sulfiric asid across Japan, damaing buildings and even causing some people in the street to faint. They have another fight, which Hedorah somewhat has an advantage because it's flying but Godzilla's atomic breath ends the fight anyways.
Hedorah's Flying Stage |
So far, all of Hedorah's forms look a bit weak against the mighty Gojira. Until now. Near the end of the movie, Hedorah finally transforms into its Perfect Stage. A giant bipedal creature, even larger than Godzilla, emitting poisonus gasses and getting bigger time by time. The last fight of the movie and Godzilla struggles against Hedorah's poisonus body and lasers. So Japanese Self-Defense Forces make a weapon with electrodes since Hedorah's origin starts from water and most of its body is liquid. But because of an accident the machine goes off. After a while, with the help of Godzilla's atomic breath, they manage to take down Hedorah and turn him into dusts to prevent it growing and evolving again.
Other than this movie, we see Hedorah in Godzilla Final Wars (2004) as well. In this movie, Hedorah (as well as some other kaijus) is being controlled by the Xiliens. This Hedorah also has a more polished look compared to 1971 Hedorah which looks messy.
